Are you an entrepreneur struggling to stay organized and productive? You’re not alone. Developing a daily routine is one of the best ways to boost productivity, maintain a healthy work-life balance and make the most of your day. Research indicates that business owners who apply consistency to their daily routine have a heightened chance of achieving their goals.
What does it mean to be consistent?
Webster Dictionary defines consistent as: “marked by harmony, regularity, or steady continuity : free from variation or contradiction”
Doesn’t that sound amazing? Harmony, regularity, and steady continuity! What stands out to us the most in this definition though is “free from contradiction”. And we feel that is the best place to start when beginning your journey to consistency and creating a routine that supports that.
Knowing what is important to you will help you determine what to keep in your daily routine. If you don’t love what you are doing, if it doesn’t align with your beliefs or your business’ mission statement, then there is a good chance you won’t stick with it and your dreams of success and consistency are gone.
Amy Polak of Freedom Path did an amazing virtual workshop for WCE (if you missed it make sure to watch it HERE). She talked about creating a personal mission statement for yourself so that you can always reference it when making any decisions. Your mission statement is different from your business mission, as it should define what life and success means to you. By creating this personal mission statement, you will give yourself the foundation on which you want your life to ultimately be. You will make decisions that support your personal mission and that will create the consistency and mindset that will get you closer to the life you want to live.
Using this personal mission statement you can define the goals that go with your core beliefs. You then can develop the daily tasks and set a routine that surround these goals and you will start to experience more consistency in your life. Having a set routine encourages prioritization. Many entrepreneurs often find themselves overwhelmed with so many tasks to complete. When you practice consistency, it will reduce the amount of decision-making needed over time, as you’ll already know what your priority is, making it easier to stick with it. This and your personal mission statement will prevent decision-fatigue from setting in and save time from overthinking or worrying about which task to do first.
You might be thinking – what does my personal mission statement have to do with improving my business?!
With establishing your personal mission statement, setting a routine, and developing more consistency in your life you will then be able to apply this mindset to other aspects of your business, such as, managing budgets, creating appropriate marketing plans, and more. This will not only make you more mindful of your actions and how they affect your business’s growth, but it will also help you to work more efficiently and effectively.

In short, knowing yourself and your business is a great way to set the goals that you know you will stick with. You will be able to create a schedule that suits you and your version of a successful and happy life.
