a. Be Authentic
If you’re not being authentic, your customers and clients will eventually figure it out. They will be able to see right through you and will not trust you. Be true to who you are and be honest to your customers and clients so that you can start building trust.
b. Be Vulnerable
It’s okay to be vulnerable and show that you’re not perfect. In fact, it makes you more relatable and human. It’s important to be open and honest about the tough times you go through because it lets others know they’re not alone.
c. Focus on Shared Values
The best way to connect with your ideal customers is to get to know them. Who are they? What do they like? What do they do? Where do they spend their time? Find commonalities between them and your business. What do you have in common? What can you offer them that they can’t find anywhere else? Bridge the gap so they feel connected to you.
d. Look to Your Past
Whether you’re just starting out or you’ve been in business for a while, a good place to begin crafting your story brand is by looking at your origins. Why did you decide to start your business? What is your mission? What is your background?
Telling your audience the reasons behind your brand can help to establish trust and connection. By sharing your story, you’re inviting others to see themselves in your journey, and to see how your brand can help them achieve their own goals.
